I'm loving this different and current take on an ombré lip: strictly matte!

What I love about ombré is the plumping effect and dimension it delivers to your lips. Here I share a step by step guide to a perfect ombré lip in MATTE! 

Begin by exfoliating your lips with a good lip scrub. MAC have a divine selection of lip scrubs which are always necessary, especially during winter as our lips tend to dry up.

Follow with a clear lip conditioner. This is important especially when going for a matte lip product. 

Choose two matte colors from the same family. For example, a deep dark vampy burgundy or purple (this season we are loving darker shades). Start to apply on the outer part of the lips only, inside the lip line, leaving the inner center of the lip for your second shade. 

Once the outer half of the lips are colored, take your lighter shade such as a lighter red or pink and start filling in the rest of the lip.

With a brush gently blend the colors in together where they meet. 

For extra impact, I love taking a frosty powder eyeshadow similar in color and dabbing a little in the center of the lips. 
Crushed pigments work very well for this.

And voila! Your perfect matte ombré pout!
