Beauty Tip of the Week – Instant Youth in Minutes

No matter how on point we want our makeup to be, what matters the most is for it to make us look like the most youthful version of ourselves. Sometimes, the wrong products and application can work against us, making us look older or tired. However, some tricks can actually make us look fresh and youthful and here is how:

1. Avoid thick full coverage concealer for under eyes and opt for a more sheen formula such as Candleglow concealer by Laura Mercier, or YSL's Touche Eclat.

2. Choose lipstick shades in light mauve and pink. You’d be surprised how much these colors actually define lips and add a youthful rosiness, unlike the deeper darker burgundies and reds. Also, be sure to always keep lips moisturized by applying a lip balm before lipstick, and at bedtime.

3. Choose a bright blush instead of deep dark contouring powders. Peaches and pinks with a bit of sheen always work for a fresh and radiant look. If you have dry skin, try a crème blush and apply it on the apples of your cheeks. It blends in beautifully and will not dry or cake-up, leaving you with a nice creamy finish. The same applies to powder blushes for those of us with more oily skin types.

4. The key feature for maintaining a youthful look is a set of natural looking eyebrows. As we all know, thick and healthy brows come across as softer and less hard than very thin sharp looking brows. To get soft full brows, opt for a powder and brush, and fill in sparse areas lightly. Seal the brow using an eyebrow wax which will come with most brow kits.

5. Opt for natural eye makeup, with a medium application of mascara. Nothing too thick or heavy, as it will weigh down your eyes rather than lift them up.

6. Always be sure to prep your skin before applying your foundation and makeup. Also, don’t forget to moisturize the skin, and warm your product with your finger tips for a well-blended application.
