Beauty Tip of the Week – Glossy and Glazed

A classic look, which we can thank some iconic silver screen stars for, is glossy and glazed! Think of Marlene Dietrich. To me she remains the pioneer of the glossy eye lid and this season many of us are reaching out for this look.
Now that winter is coming to an end, we can shift from all things matte to a more glossy and dewy look. Not only is it a minimal look, but it also makes you look more youthful.

First, choose highly pigmented highlighters.
At the moment, I’m loving a brand called Cover FX enhancer and illuminating drops. They blend so beautifully on the skin and give a beautiful glisten.

When it comes to eyes, you can top your eyeshadow with a regular gloss, however I prefer to use glossy products created specifically for the eyes. Kevyn Aucoin beauty have a very light textured eye gloss. It’s available in two shades: one clear, and the other slightly holographic.

As for lips, just pop on your favorite lip gloss. Either clear or tinted. I find MAC’s clear lip gloss to be the strongest and shiniest of them all. You can wear it alone or with color underneath.

Pro tip: make the most out of this look during spring because once the temperatures rise and humidity goes up, gloss will not be your best friend!
There’s a perfect season for everything.
