Beauty Sleep 101

After having a baby, sleep became more important than food! Now that we finally got the baby to sleep through most nights, I have used my Iphone’s sleep setting to remind me to go to sleep around ten o’clock every night. I really want to get the most out of my sleep because in reality it’s the most “me time” I really have. Here are some things I do to make sure I feel like sleeping beauty every night. Try them out!

First off try to sleep at the same time every night by figuring out how much sleep your body likes and how early you need to wake up. I was never too picky about pillows, but the pillow case is a different story. Invest in a silk pillowcase; not only is it good for your skin, but it’s also good for your hair. One thing I learned as a mom is sticking to a bedtime routine for my baby, which made me think: why not have a bedtime routine for myself? Basically, I don’t use my phone but instead I set the tone for bed by having a herbal tea. I love using the scent of lavender, whether it’s a candle or spraying it on my sheets. Finally, and in addition to my skincare routine, I apply lotion on areas that need some extra love anywhere from my lips down to my feet, and I’m off to dreamland!
