Balmain Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear

Olivier Rousteing never fails to deliver excellence and today, the French designer proved that the Balmain Army leads and doesn’t follow. Indeed, for the House’s Fall/Winter 2018-2019 collection, the designer transformed his usual structured silhouettes into a series of metallic pieces worth a thousand words.

Models strutted down the runway in metallic jumpsuits and pantsuits, shiny silk organza trousers and matelassé ensembles. Rousteing triggered some kind of a futuristic vibe that was mostly apparent through glossy metallic tunics and plastic garments, from coats to shoes. But he also worked in a couple of denim looks that instilled the collection with enough zest to last them for seasons to come – think denim ensembles, distressed jeans and denim maxi coats. Along came flashy looks that had neon lights written all over them – figuratively of course. Picture fluorescent colors skewing from yellow to blue, pink and green tones. Mix them all-together and you’ve got yourself one collection to remember!
