‘The Art of de Grisogono, Creation 1’ Breaks Records

Yesterday, November 14th, witnessed a record breaking phenomena entitled “The Art of de Grisogono, Creation 1’. In fact, this masterpiece that comes in the shape of a necklace achieved a hammer price of US$ 33,701,000 at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva.

Designed by Fawaz Gruosi – founder and creative director of de Grisogono, this captivating necklace features a 163.41-carat Flawless D-Color diamond cut from the historical 404-carat diamond, the marketing rights of which were granted to the jewelry house by international rough diamond trader Nemesis. Are you wondering why this necklace opens a new milestone for de Grisogono? Well, because this diamond is the largest ever emerald-cut one to be offered at an auction.

“This auction marks a high point for de GRISOGONO and the team that have worked so tirelessly to bring this incredible stone to life in this beautiful piece, Creation 1. This is the largest emerald-cut diamond ever to come to auction and so it was uncharted territory. I am truly privileged to have had the opportunity to work with a historic stone of such perfection and would thank everyone who has taken part in this beautiful journey from mine to masterpiece,” commented Fawaz Gruosi.

With the efforts of 14 highly-skilled artisans and 1700 hours spent on creating this masterpiece, de Grisogono proves its ability to break records with its unconventional daring creativity.
